Whats New at Pomamaniaź
Back in the fall of 2006 we travelled down to Nova Scotia to visit Chris and John Heartz and to breed several of our girls.
The resulting litters were born late in October, 2006 and
during the summer of 2007 we starting showing three of the offspring. Cooper know more formly as
CH Pomamania's Cobalt (CAN/AM CH Chriscendo Call to Arms ROMX x Pomamania's Cotton Candy)
finished very quickly in his first set of summer shows winning a Best Puppy in Show and a Group 2 in the process. Jackie
or
CH Pomamania's Jack O Lantern (CAN/AM/TH CH Starlight's Fun Times x Pomamania's Jucie Fruit)
also did quite well taking group placements and finishing at the Ottawa Kennel Club shows in November 2007. Leaving her brother, Trick
to wait until later in the year, he quickly acquired 5 points by the end of 2007.
At our first shows in 2008, we had entered one of the mothers from our original Nova Scotia visit. Trip whose registered name is
CH Pomamania's Triple A Licious (CAN/AM CH Pomamania's Buba Licious x Pomamania's Y Not Fly)
was awarded the Breed and a Group 4 on the first day to complete her championship. On the second day, Trick or
CH Pomamania's Trick or Treat (CAN/AM/TH CH Starlight's Fun Times x Pomamania's Jucie Fruit)
took the Breed and a Group 2 to complete his championship.
We brought out 3 new puppies for the Eastern Ontario circuit in July. The Friday at the Kars show on July 18th under
torrential rainfall, Pilgrim took the breed over specials and Best Puppy in Group, and in the words of Judge Barbara Beland went like a trooper
through the rain and the mud. Later in the week at the Limestone show in Kingston, Pilgrim again took the Breed over specials in a large
Pom entry, a Group 4 under Bill Taylor and Best Bred-by in Show under Guy Spagnolo plus he became a new champion.
Pilgrim whose registered name is
CH Pomamania's Pilgrim (CAN/AM CH Chriscendo Call to Arms ROMX x Pomamania's Cotton Candy)
is a full brother to Cooper from a subsequent breeding.
For the Saturday and Sunday at Kars,
Pomamania's Heartland (CAN/AM CH Pomamania's Buba Licious x Royalty Destined for Time Sue)
known better as Amy again took the Breeds and the points for the single day at Lombardy.
Pomamania's Fancy Pants (CAN/AM CH Chriscendo Call to Arms ROMX x Pomamania's Jucie Fruit)
started her shows at Lombardy with a Best of Winners and a Best of Opposite. Fancy was also shown with Pilgrim at Limestone
where she was Winneers Bitch both days and Best of Opoosite on the Sunday over Specials.
What an extended week. Three dogs started, one new champion and two others over half way finished to their Canadian Championships.
In addition Amy under the capable hands of Phil Mathew continued to show her stuff at the Muskoka shows in Bracebridge
taking the Breed over Specials in the first show and Best of Winners and Best of Opposite in the second show. Unfortunately
the competition pulled their dogs for the next three shows so there were no more points available.
